Dordt College Honors Recital Sept. 19

A music recital featuring this year’s Dordt College music scholarship award students will be Friday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. in the B. J. Haan Auditorium.

Both instrumental and vocal music will be presented, and the public is welcome to attend.

Performers in the Honors Recital are freshmen Melinda Vander Ark from Mount Vernon, WA (piano); Jonathan Posthuma from Brandon, WI (piano); Krista DeVries from Orange City, IA (piano); Emily Hageman from Highlands Ranch, CO (soprano); Nate Vruwink from Hudsonville, MI (violin); sophomores Lee Radde from Cologne, MN (tuba); Nathan Groenendyk from Leighton, IA (tenor); juniors Jander Talen from Charlottetown, PE (baritone); Helen van Beek (organ); seniors Melanie De Young from South Holland, Ill. (organ);and Andrew Friend from Zillah, Wash. (organ).

More than 300 students participate in the music program at Dordt, taking the opportunity to perform in four choral groups, two orchestras, and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.
