Dordt Discovery Days brought 182 junior high students to the campus of Dordt College for the academic camp, held June 23-27. Photos from the week can be seen here.

This year’s theme was “Beat the Blues.” The week-long event is offered annually for students who have completed sixth, seventh, or eighth grade, with most classes taught by Dordt College professors or alumni, and participants invited to stay in college housing.

Discovery Day participants chose from a variety of classes in music, theater, art, sports, and other interests. This year’s camp offered 27 classes, with new offerings including Digital Scrapbooking, Design on a Dime, Down on the Farm, Geocaching, Nursing, Sign Language, and Time Travel.

Participants came from Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, California and South Carolina.

Sixth through eighth graders interested in attending next year’s Discovery Days should email coordinator Dianne DeWit for a brochure.
