Electronic recycling drive April 10-11

April 4, 2008

Dordt College’s Creation Care Club, Justice Matters, and the Computer Club will be hosting an electronic recycling drive on campus April 10-11, in the parking lot west of the classroom building.

From 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, club members will be available to help weigh electronics and pack them on pallets to be loaded on a large trailer from Millennium Recycling.

Free items that will be accepted for disposal include CPUs and laptops (parted or whole); handhelds; SONY Brand equipment; cell phones; and undamaged LCD monitors.

A fee of 30 cents per pound will be charged for disposal of TVs, CRT monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, VCRs, laser disc players, video game consoles, radios, answering machines, and other household electronics.

Furniture with built in electronics will not be accepted.

On April 26 (during Sioux Center’s city wide rummage sales) Covenant Christian Reformed Church will host a similar drive, with a trailer manned on the church parking lot from late morning through late afternoon.
