Three college bands will perform in March 8 concert

The Dordt College Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Campus-Community Band will perform Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center.

Directed by Dr. Henry Duitman, the concert band will be performing “First Suite in Eb,” “March of the Belgian Paratroopers,” and “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” Student conductor Tim Vande Griend will lead the band in “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” by Wagner.

Dordt’s Campus-Community Band, also directed by Duitman, will present “Parade of the Wooden Solders,” “Down a County Lane,” “Ouachita,” and “Heather Ridge Sketches.”

The Dordt Jazz Band, directed by Dr. Robert Horton, will present “Dante’s View,” “Adelieland,” “Scat Cat,” “Nada Mas,” “A Gentle Touch,” and “Big Noise from Winnetka.”

The concert is free, with a freewill offering being received to benefit music scholarships at Dordt College.
