Dordt ag department featured on KMEG

September 25, 2007

The Dordt College Ag Department recently assisted KMEG TV station in Sioux City in the creation of farm safety ads for the harvest season, as well as a feature story which ran last week on KMEG 14 (channel 8 on the Sioux Center cable network).

The Dordt feature story can be viewed online (click on "Your Hometown" tab, and then "Proud to be a Home Town Farmer"). The video title of this Friday, Sept. 21 broadcast is "Ag Class Focusing on Farm Safety this Week.”

The previous day, additional film footage was shown, with the reporter, Sarah Te Slaa, also holding up a Dordt College sweatshirt presented to her by Mike Schouten, Ag Stewardship Center steward.

The KMEG team interviewed Schouten, Dr. Duane Bajema, James Korver, and Nadji Remer, and spent two hours filming the Ag 105 Ag Safety lab activity at the Ag Stewardship Center.
