Commencement at Dordt College May 11

Dordt College will celebrate the commencement of the college’s 50th graduating class at a ceremony in the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. CST.
This year’s graduating class consists of 275 students, with degrees conferred including Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Education degrees. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees will also be awarded to the first group of nurses to complete Dordt’s recently accredited program.
A reception for family and friends will follow the ceremony, held in the recreation center. The reception is hosted by Dordt’s Alumni Association.
Rev. Cliff Bajema, Grand Haven, MI, will present the commencement address, “Seeking the Spirit’s Mind.” Pastor Bajema is a retired CRC minister who served as interim campus pastor at Dordt from 2004-2005. He has served numerous churches and college campuses throughout his career, and is a published author and poet. His most recent book, Christianity in a Culture of Conflict, is published by Dordt College Press.
Seating in the B.J. Haan Auditorium is by ticket only and has been reserved for immediate family members of the graduates. Additional seating, with a live video feed, will be available in the Science and Technology Center (S101 and S108) and the Classroom Complex (C160).
