Schuller to perform Feb. 27

Kelsi Schuller, a senior music major at Dordt College, will present a vocal recital at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Also participating in the recital will be tenor Jonathon Shaffstall; baritone Tim Vande Griend; baritone Chris Natelborg; Elizabeth Van Maanen on the clarinet; and Marlys Grimm on the piano. Schuller’s vocal instructor at Dordt is Pam De Haan.

The program for the evening includes “Duetto Buffo Di Du Gatti” by Rossini; “Rusalka’s Song to the Moon” by Dvoøák; a trio of German songs; and an opera scene from “Tosca” by Puccini.

Schuller is a music major with an emphasis in vocal performance and pedagogy. She is a two-time winner at the Lewis and Clark chapter NATS competition (National Association of Teachers of Singing). She was a runner-up at the 2006 Iowa NATS competition and has also performed as a soloist with the Dordt College Concert Choir and Kantorei. Kelsi is the daughter of James and Vivian Schuller, Ripon, CA.

The public is cordially invited to this vocal recital, as well as a reception immediately following the performance.
