Gamerl oboe recital Feb. 16

Darci Gamerl, an adjunct instructor of oboe at Dordt College, will present a recital at the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Friday, Feb. 16, at 3 p.m. Gamerl will be accompanied by Dr. Robert Horton, assistant professor of music at Dordt.

Gamerl will perform works by Jindrich Feld, Ignaz Lachner, Paul Patterson, and Marin Marais, with compositions ranging from a jazzy, rhythmic work to a light, romantic concertino.

Ms. Gamerl is an adjunct music instructor at several regional colleges, and an international chamber musician who performs regularly with symphony orchestras in Omaha, Lincoln, Kansas City, Des Moines, Sioux City, and Duluth. Gamerl is one of 25 international performers in the Analog Arts Ensemble, and is also the founder and editor of Oboe News, a monthly newsletter for oboe students and educators. She is an alumna of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (M.M.).

The recital is free and open to the public.
