Register now for Day of Encouragement

January 17, 2007

A day to inspire, encourage and equip God’s people for ministry will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at Dordt College in Sioux Center.

“Day of Encouragement” is a day of worship, fellowship and workshops designed for church elders, deacons, pastors, church secretaries, youth leaders, care givers, and church members. It is sponsored by Dordt College and six Christian Reformed classes.

A team of 20 presenters will lead small group breakout sessions on a variety of ministry, leadership and outreach topics. Some of the 22 sessions to choose from include Dynamic Youth Ministries (discussion forum); Who Gets Our Offering; Small Groups Take Off; Keeping the Vision Alive; Family Devotions That Work; and Developing New Leaders.

The keynote speaker is Scott Hoezee, from Calvin Seminary’s Center for Excellence in Preaching. His topic will be “God Sends His Love,” and will address how the faithful proclamation of God’s Word keeps Christians returning for regular worship.

An additional Friday workshop will also be offered, in partnership with the organization Ascending Leaders. The Feb. 9 workshop titled "Charting Your Course," is designed to help individuals discern what God is calling them to do and then to take steps to respond to that call.

Preregistration for Saturday’s Day of Encouragement and Friday’s Charting Your Course is requested by Jan. 30. A discounted registration fee is being offered to groups of five or more when they register together. For more information or to request a brochure, contact Dianne De Wit at 712-722-6029.
