January 18, 2007

Dordt College will begin the spring semester with a convocation ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The public is welcome to attend.

Speaking at the convocation will be Dr. Duane Litfin, president of Wheaton College and author of several books, most recently Conceiving the Christian College (Eerdmans, 2004).

Dr. Duane Litfin has been at Wheaton College 14 years. He holds an undergraduate degree in biblical studies and a master’s degree in theology. His two doctorates are from Purdue University (Ph.D., Communication) and Oxford University (D.Phil., New Testament). Dr. Litfin was previously a pastor at First Evangelical Church, Memphis, TN, and also spent a decade as an associate professor at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Convocations are a formal gathering of the academic community to reexamine the learning institution’s vision and connection to a variety of disciplines and callings.
