Vote Now for Film Challenge 'People's Choice'

October 16, 2006

The opportunity to vote for your favorite movie in Dordt College’s Prairie Grass Film Challenge is now available on the web, where 10 short films created by Unity, Western and Dordt teams are available for viewing and voting.

The film receiving the most online votes will receive the People's Choice Award, with a $150 cash prize. Results will be announced on the website on Monday, October 23.

At a screening October 13, judges awarded a film by Wesson Productions the “Best of Show” designation. That team (individual participants are listed on the website) received the first place $500 cash prize and the first-ever “Dordty.” First runner up was Team De Wit, which will receive $250 for their effort. These films may be viewed but are not eligible for Peoples' Choice votes.

The films were created October 4-6, with teams getting just 48 hours to come up with a concept for a short film (5-8 minutes), write a script, shoot the footage, cut it together and submit it for screening.
