New faculty, staff at Dordt College

Dordt College is pleased to announce a new faculty member and two staff people who have recently been added to the college’s personnel.
Ms. Abby Jansen, Dayton, OH, has been hired as an instructor of social work, to begin teaching Dordt classes in December.
Jansen earned her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, with a focus on the management of human services, communities and social systems. Jansen received her Bachelor of Social Work degree at Dordt College in 2002.
Jansen is currently finishing up work as a Faith Outreach Organizer in the five-state north central region of Bread For The World. Previously, Jansen was a human resources assistant for Neighborhood Senior Services in Ann Arbor, MI; an intern at Nonprofit Enterprise at Work, Inc., also in Ann Arbor; and a service coordinator for Lutheran Social Services.
Donna Brue, Sioux Center, began as a part-time secretary in Dordt’s music department in September. Brue earned a B.A. in music at Dordt College and has served as an accompanist for the chorale, concert choir and student solo work. Brue has previously worked as a secretary for the Aerospace Engineering Department at Iowa State University and as a church administrative assistant. Donna and her husband Ethan (Dordt Engineering professor) have three children: Kinza, Jaren and Rylan.
Lee De Groot, Hull, is working part-time in the Dordt College Maintenance Department. De Groot attended Northwestern College and Iowa State University, studying art, education and psychology. She has previously worked independently and with a cleaning service, and at Dordt will be assisting with cleaning in various buildings on campus. Lee and her husband Doug have five children: Chase, Dodge, Dash, Cruise and Aysha.
