This fall, an enhancement to Dordt’s nursing program allows nursing students to earn their B.S.N. in a four year program at Dordt, taking only their clinicals and a one-credit pharmacology course at St. Luke’s.

The 10 Dordt College students awarded associate nursing degrees at St. Luke’s College were Holly Andringa, Clinton, IA; Jessica Bussema, Silver Spring, MD; Erin Cooper, Brookfield, WI; Marianne Dlouhy, Edgewood, IA; Margriet Greidanus, Morinville, AB; Cheryl Huitsing, Thunder Bay, ON; Laura Leusink, Abbotsford, B.C.; Megan Noteboom, Ireton, IA; Julia Schroeder, Granville, IA; and Richarla Van Ee, Williamston, MI.

The associate of science in nursing degrees were awarded in a ceremony held at the Eppley Auditorium in Sioux City. Diplomas were presented by Willis Alberda, chair of St. Luke’s College Board of Directors. Presenting class honors was Michael Stiles, St. Luke’s chancellor.

Dr. Carl E. Zylstra, president of Dordt College, presented the commencement address for the 32 person graduating class.

Earlier in the day a pinning ceremony was conducted in which Karen Eberle, associate professor for St. Luke’s program, presented nursing pins to the graduates.
