Animal rights to be discussed Feb. 16

Dr. Wes Jamison, Dordt College Associate Professor of Agriculture, will discuss animal rights issues at a forum sponsored by Dordt Collegeís Pre-Veterinary Club on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the science building room S108. Anyone interested in this issue is invited to attend.

Dr. Jamison was recently a keynote speaker at the Wisconsin Pork Conference, and also addressed the topic of animal rights at a Young Dairy Leaderís Institute in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 2.

Dr. Jamison has a Ph.D. from Oregon State University with a dual emphasis in poultry science and agricultural politics, and a B.S. in agricultural science from Auburn University in Alabama. He also operates his own consulting firm, Agricultural Issues Assessment. Jamison has been an Assistant Professor of Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas, a visiting Professor of Agriculture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, an Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary and Global Studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, and President of Agricultural Issues Assessment in Sterling, Massachusetts.
