Jazz Band, Campus Community Band concert Dec. 7

Jazz Band

A concert featuring the Dordt College Jazz Band and the Campus-Community Band will be held at the B. J. Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m.

The jazz band, directed by Norm Gaines, will perform selections including “St. Louis Blues,” “Hey Good Lookin’,” It’s Déjá Vu,” “Dizzy Atmosphere,” “Moonlight Sernade,” and “Sleigh Ride.” The vocal quartet, “The Blue Notes,” will also perform with the jazz band.

The campus-community band is directed by Dr. Henry Duitman, and will perform “Brighton Beach” by Latham; “Polly Oliver” by Root; “American Riversongs” by La Plante” and “Golliwogg’s Cakewalk” by Debussy. Also performing will be a brass quartet, woodwind quartet, a horn trio, flute choir and a trombone quartet.

The public is invited to this free concert. A freewill offering will be received to benefit music scholarships at Dordt College.
