Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band concert Dec. 5

The Dordt College Concert Band and Chamber Orchestra will present a concert Monday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the B.J. Haan Auditorium.
The Concert Band’s selections for the program include “Liberty Bell” by Sousa; “Giles Farnaby Suite” by Jacob; “Morceau Symphonique” by Guilmant (Amy Vander Kamp, trombone soloist); “Epinicion” by Paulson; and “Variants on a Mediaeval Tune” by Dello Joio.
In the chamber orchestra portion of the concert, this ensemble will perform “Concerto Grosso” by Handel; “Waltz for Strings” by Whear; “Fantasia on Greensleeves” by Vaughan Williams; and “St. Paul’s Suite,” by Holst. The conductor for both groups is Dr. Henry Duitman, professor of music at Dordt College.
The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be received to benefit Dordt College Music Scholarships.
