Spronk to present organ recital

Carrie Spronk will present her senior organ recital at Dordt College on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. The public is cordially invited to the B.J. Haan Auditorium for this recital and a reception following the performance.

Spronk is the daughter of Harland and Diane Spronk, Edgerton, Minn., and is majoring in organ performance and pedagogy, with a minor in church music.

Spronk has selected music from a wide spectrum of styles that the audience will enjoy, from variations on a Dutch folk song to a contemporary dance-toccata. Her organ instructor is Dr. Joan Ringerwole.

Spronk placed first in this year’s state and regional National Federation of Music Clubs competition; second at the 2004 American Guild of Organists Twin Cities Chapter Student Competition; and third at 2004 and 2005 Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competitions.
