Suk lecture Thursday night
October 26, 2005
John Suk, former editor of The Banner, will speak in Sioux Center during an eight stop public lecture series Oct. 13-Nov. 14 across the U.S. and Canada.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m., Suk will speak at the classroom building lecture hall C160. His topic will be “A Personal Relationship With Jesus: Saying What We Mean.” Suk remarked that “Christian” language doesn’t always compute for non-Christians. In this pointed, pastoral lecture, he explores what the phrase “a personal relationship with Jesus” might mean for people – whether Christians or seekers – saturated by popular culture.
Rev. Suk is currently teaching at Asian Theological Seminary in the Philippines for Christian Reformed World Missions. In the spring of 2006, he will begin work as the new president of the Institute for Christian Studies.
