Dordt College Honors Recital Sept. 23

A music recital featuring all Dordt College students who were awarded music scholarships for the 2005-2006 academic year will be Friday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. in the B. J. Haan Auditorium.

Both instrumental and vocal music will be presented, and the public is welcome to attend.

Performers in the Honors Recital are (freshmen) Leah Applebee, Mount Vernon, IA, saxophone; Elaine Hannink, Modesto, CA, piano; Nick Engbers, Sioux Falls, SD, voice; Chris Kuiper, Luverne, MN, piano; Amber Wiersma, Lacombe, AB, viola; (sophomores) Jeana Hoekstra, Hull, Ia, organ; Brian De Young, Bloomington, MN, organ; (junior) Sarah Schaap, South Holland, IL, organ; (seniors) Alecia Engelsman, Hudsonville, MI, voice; Rebecca Franje, New Sharon, IA, organ; Kelly Hanenburg, South Holland, IL, voice; Ruth Lynch, Spirit Lake, ID, flute; Alicia Mulder, Waupun, WI, organ; and Carrie Spronk, Edgerton, MN, organ.

Dordt College is a Christian liberal arts college in Sioux Center, Iowa, with more than 300 U.S. and international students participating in ensembles, including four choral groups, two orchestras and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.
