Psychology conference at Dordt College Thursday

Dordt College’s Psychology Department will host a Siouxland Undergraduate Psychology Research Conference on Thursday, April 28, from 9-3 p.m. on the Dordt campus in Sioux Center.

The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is David Wilcox, professor of psychology at Dordt. Wilcox holds a M.A. in clinical psychology from Wheaton College, a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty Theological Seminary, and is defending his Ph.D. dissertation from Liberty University in May. The subject of the keynote address will be “The effects of depression and spiritual maturity on the academic, social, personal-emotional, and institutional adaptation to college.”

Twenty-five PowerPoint sessions throughout the day will feature students from Dordt, Northwestern, Mount Marty and Briar Cliff Colleges. Eight poster presentations will also be at the Campus Center Eckardt Lounge from 1-1:45, featuring Briar Cliff and Dordt psychology student research topics.
