April 13, 2005

Ag Day

The Agriculture Department and Agriculture Club at Dordt College are hosting Ag Day on Friday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main parking lot on the north side of the Campus Center.

Free activities include a petting zoo, a machinery and pick-up display, ag safety displays, music, greenhouse tours by appointment, and games in the afternoon.

Contests held throughout the day include guessing the price of the machinery and animals, with team judging of livestock taking place at 10 a.m. There will also be a round-bale rolling race and a cow clipping demonstration for those interested in animal husbandry.

Ag students will serve barbecue pork sandwiches and milk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., as a fundraiser for Ag Club activities in the upcoming year. One lucky professor will also be kissing a pig, based on which professor has the most dollar bills in his/her bucket at the end of the day.

Ag Day is free and open to the public.
