US Military Band to perform at Dordt College
January 6, 2005

The Storm King Brass, a brass quintet representing the United States Military Academy Band at West Point, NY, will perform on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m. at Dordt College’s B.J. Haan Auditorium.
The quintet will perform a variety of classical music and light favorites, with a diverse repertoire that ranges from Renaissance to modern works. Scheidt’s Canzona Bergamasca will open the program. The centerpiece of the program will be Holberg Suite by Evard Grieg, which was originally written for strings. The Storm King Brass is the first ensemble to perform this work in the United States.
Other highlights of the program include Serenade, Farewell to Stromness, and Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna, selections specifically arranged for the members of the group.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see this ensemble from the U.S. Army’s oldest band. The concert is free and open to the public. The group’s Midwest tour also includes a performance at Augustana College Jan. 24, performances at Morningside College Jan. 26-27, and at Northwestern College Jan. 28.
