Jazz Band, Campus-Community Band to perform at Dordt
November 30, 2004
A concert featuring the Dordt College Jazz Band and the Campus-Community Band will be held at the B. J. Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
The jazz band, directed by Norm Gaines, will perform selections including “One O’Clock Jump,” “At Last,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Morning Has Broken,” and “Just Friends.” An assortment of Christmas tunes will also be presented by the jazz band. New to the band this year is a vocal quartet, “The Blue Notes.”
The campus-commuity band is directed by Dr. Henry Duitman, and will perform music by composers Clifton Williams, John Williams, William Latham and John Cacavas.
The public is invited to this free concert. A freewill offering will be taken to benefit music scholarships at Dordt College.
