Day, Night of Encouragement Nov. 6

Need inspiration, encouragement or practical tips for ministry in your church? Then register now for “Day of Encouragement,” being offered Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, on the campus of Dordt College, Sioux Center.

Day of Encouragement participants will be treated to the keynote address, “Grace for the Journey,” by Bob DeMoor, editor of The Banner, the denominational magazine for the Christian Reformed Church.

Saturday participants will also have the opportunity to choose two small group sessions from 19 available. A sampling of group session topics available include, “The Compassionate Congregation,” led by the authors of that book, Ginger Jurries and Karen Mulder; “Fishing on the Journey,” “For the Children’s Sake,” “Imaginary Worship,” and “Best Practices for Church Secretaries.” For more information or to register, call 712-722-6028 or go to Day of Encouragement.

A bonus “Evening of Encouragement” focusing on small group ministries in churches is being offered Friday night, Nov. 5, 7-9:30 p.m., at the Dordt College West Commons, Sioux Center. A copy of the book, “Growing People Through Small Groups,” will be given to all registered participants. The two learning opportunities being offered Friday night are “Developing Principle-Based Groups,” and “Creating Life-Transforming Groups.”
