Community Service Award

A community service award was presented to Dordt College by the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at a noon luncheon held at the Dordt College West Commons.

The chamber annually presents community service awards in recognition of those who make an impact in the community and enhance the chamber’s image in the community. Dordt College was cited for being a vital part of the community, for its commitment to Sioux Center and for the quality education it has continued to provide for the past 50 years.

Sioux Center Christian School was also presented a community service award, and was recognized for 100 years of educating youth, its integral part of the community, and its commitment to Sioux Center.

Four “Go-Getter Awards” were also presented at the luncheon to businesses and individuals that “go above and beyond the call of duty” and actively support the chamber. These awards were presented to Kevin Wolterstorff, Norm Snieder, Pella Corporation and First National Bank.
