September 27, 2004

Dr. Calvin Miller will be the featured speaker at the Pastors Day chapel service on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 10:50 a.m. at the B. J. Haan Auditorium.

Dr. Miller served congregations in Plattsmouth and Omaha, Neb., before accepting teaching positions at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas and his current position at Beeson Divinity School, where he teaches preaching and pastoral ministry.

The author of more than 40 books of popular theology and inspiration, his poems and freelance articles have appeared in Christianity Today, Campus Life, Leadership and His.

Dr. Miller advocates the primacy of evangelism for the church in every age. In his own church ministry he has sought to help the church address a secular culture while equipping the church for missions and evangelism. His most recent books and articles have dealt with spirituality as a journey and the pilgrimage which strives for union with Christ.

Other Pastors Day events include a noon luncheon and the opportunity for pastors to sit in on classes throughout the day.
