Dordt College Athletic Director, Rick Vander Berg has been selected as the Scheel's/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Athletic Director-of-the-year in voting done by the GPAC athletic directors.

He is respected by students and his colleagues; he is very deserving of this honor."

Vander Berg oversees a Dordt College athletic department that has grown to include seven varsity men's programs and seven varsity women's programs. Vander Berg earned a Master's Degree in Physical Education from South Dakota State University in 1972.
