Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Morningside

(Sioux City, Iowa) Dordt College lost a 3-0 decision in GPAC volleyball on Tuesday night in Sioux City by set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 as the final week of the season begins.
Dordt started set one strong and held a 10-5 lead midway through the initial contest. Morningside proceeded to go on a 10-0 run to take control of the set, getting four points in the run off of blocks.
Set two had the Defenders up 9-8 only to have Morningside go on a 6-0 run to lead 14-9 and Dordt never got close in falling 25-15.
Set three was tight early with the two teams tying nine times up to 12-12. The Mustangs got a little breathing room but the Defenders narrowed the gap to 18-17 on back to back kills by Katelyn Schuller. Three points in a row by the Mustangs made it 21-17 and the hosts held on for the sweep.
Dordt hit for a .110 kill efficiency and Morningside was was good for a .324 efficiency. Dordt was led by Katelyn Schuller's 10 kills and Loy Sahr and Lindsey Floen each had five kills. Kayla Gesink had 24 assists and Kayla Broekhuis got to 13 digs.
Dordt slips to 11-3 in the conference and 22-9 overall while Morningside improves to 15-12 overall and 6-8 in the league. Dordt holds on to second place in the league, holding a one game lead over Midland and Doane in the loss column. Dordt has a home match with Northwestern on Thursday and road match with Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday. Midland has two matches remaining and Doane one.
