(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt College dropped two games behind the conference leader Hastings College Broncos with a 3-1 loss in Hastings on Saturday afternoon. All four sets were fairly one sided affairs with Hastigs winning the first set 25-17 after getting out to a 10-3 advantage. Set two went to Dordt with the Defenders getting up 16-10 on a bad set by the Broncos and a Celaine Haan service ace made it 22-15. Hastings scored the next four points to cut the lead to 22-19 but three straight attack errors by the hosts gave the Defenders a 25-19 win.
Set three was close to the 8-7 mark but the Broncos scored six of the next eight points for a 14-9 advantage and rolled to a 25-17 decision. Set four was more of the same with the hosts getting up 6-5 early and a 12-5 run made it 18-10 and they won the set and match with a 25-18 margin.
"We just played the #6 team in the country and challenged them a bit," said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.
