(Bellevue, Nebraska) Dordt College bounced back from its loss to Bellevue earlier in the day to take a 3-0 win over Friends at the Bellevue Classic on Friday, August 31.

Dordt scored six points in a row at the end of set one for a 25-17 win. Four of Dordt's points during that stretch came from Friends hitting errors.

Set two had Dordt in control from start to finish for a 25-18 win, finishing the set with a Kiley Velgersdyk kill.

Set three was all Dordt as the Defenders were up 14-5 to start the set and went on to win 25-11.

Dordt's balanced attack was led by Velgersdyk and Lindsey Floen with 11 kills each. Danae Geels and Loy Sahr each had seven kills and Kayla Gesink put up 36 assists with Celaine Haan recording two ace serves. Kayla Broekhuis compiled 23 digs.

Dordt is 4-2 heading into day two action on Saturday, September 1 against Kansas Wesleyan and Baker.
