Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Nebraska Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders women's volleyball team closed out their regular season in fine fashion beating Nebraska Wesleyan in three sets, 26-24, 25-23 and 25-16.

Dordt won tight decisions in the first two sets to put Wesleyan on its heels and the Prairie Wolves were never able to get on track in the third set as Dordt forced a split of the two meetings between the GPAC schools this season.

Dordt was led Katelyn Schuller with 11 kills and Danae Geels put down nine. Jessica De Stigter was good for 24 asists and Kayla Gesink had 14. Jocelyn Bousema led the defense with 16 digs and she also recorded an ace serve.

Wesleyan by Cody Long and Karny Kuehl with eight kills each.

With the win the Defenders improve to 16-16 overall and 10-6 in GPAC play.

The Defender women will next play in a GPAC quarterfinal match scheduled for Tuesday, November 8 at 7:30 against Northwestern. Dordt is seeded fifth in the eight-team tournament.
