(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender volleyball team is 1-1 after losing a 3-1 match decision to Georgetown (Kentucky) late Friday night. The Defender women won game one going away by a 30-24 decision. Dordt trailed much of game two before tying the game at 29-29, but lost 32-30. Georgetown was in control most of games three and four for 30-22 and 30-24 decisions, managing a split for themselves after losing to Morningside earlier in the day.

Emily Van Voorst (Senior; Rock Valley, Iowa) put up 39 assists while Kendra Potgeter (Freshman; Byron Center, Michigan) put down 18 kills and Larissa Veldhuizen (Sophomore; Pipestone, Minnesota) contributed 11 and Kristin De Ronde (Junior; Oskaloosa, Iowa) added nine.

Liz Van Voorst (Junior; Rock Valley, Iowa) had 22 digs and Dorinda Hibma (Freshman; Sioux Center, Iowa) dug up 13.

Dordt is 1-1 and will play two more matches on Saturday in the annual season opening classic in Orange City, Iowa. Dordt beat Mayville State (North Dakota) earlier in the day by a 3-1 count.
