Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. NAIA National Tournament-Texas Wesleyan

(Point Loma University-San Diego, California) The Dordt College Lady Defenders fell to 0-2 in Pool play at the NAIA national volleyball tournament with a 3-2 loss to Texas Wesleyan. The Lady Defenders dropped game one 30-28 but came back to win game two by a 30-23 count. Game three saw Wesleyan push ahead from an 11-11 tied to win 30-25. Facing a do or die situation, the Lady Defenders pushed ahead after trailing 25-23 to win 30-27. Game five featured nine ties with the last one at 12-12. Wesleyan scored the final three points to win 15-12.

Dordt College still has a possibility of moving out of pool play, but does not control their own destiny.

The Lady Defenders were topped by Rachel Pontier with 20 kills and Tara De Boer added 18. Emily Van Voorst had 51 assists and Jill Haan had 30 digs.

Katie Loftin had 25 kills to lead Texas Wesleyan.
