Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. GPAC Finals-Hastings

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders wrapped up the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship with a 30-18, 31-33, 30-27, 30-21 match win over the visiting Hastings College Broncos on Saturday.

The Lady Defenders led from start to finish in game one and led 18-12 in game two before Hastings put together a comeback to tie it at 20. Dordt extended a 29-26 lead and served for the game but a service error gave Hastings new life and they made the most of it coming all the way back to take a 33-31 decision.

Game three had Dordt out in front early as well with Hastings coming from down 18-10 to tie it at 25 but the Lady Defenders took the momentum back and won 30-27.

Game four was a tight affair early with nine ties, the last one coming at 14-14. Dordt held a slim 21-19 lead in game four, but extended it to 25-19 before winning 30-21.

Dordt was topped by Tara De Boer with 21 kills, two service aces and three solo and nine assisted blocks. Amande Eekhoff had 14 kills and Rachel Van Beek 13. Emily Van Voorst put up 52 assists while Traci Kooima had 31 digs and Linsdey Van Wyk added 20.

Hastings was led by Kaitlin Schuessler with 11 kills, Erin Lenneman with 10 and Jenny Werneking with seven. Paige Barnett had 28 digs.
