(West Palm Beach, Florida) Dordt's season came to an end tonight in the NAIA National quarterfinals with a 3-1 loss to top ranked, and two-time defending National Champion Columbia of Missouri. The games scores were 10-15, 15-5, 15-7, and 15-12. Karen Netz ended her outstanding career with 17 kills in the loss, while Darci Bouma added 15. Alisa Kooima lofted 45 assists, and Laura Van Kley two ace serves. Dordt's season ended at 34-9, and Columbia moves on at 43-1. "I'm just so proud of this team," said Dordt College head volleyball coach Tom Van Den Bosch. "They are just a joy to coach, and we could not have asked for more out of this National Tournament appearance." "Karen (Netz) and Laura (Beckering) have been such a joy to coach, and they are two great people," added Van Den Bosch, about the senior co-captions who ended their four-year career's with the loss.
