Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, IA) In what was called the championship match of previous weekends' Northwestern Red Raider Tournament, Dordt and Northwestern squared off on Tuesday night in Orange City at the Bultman Center. The Lady Defenders and Lady Red Raiders each took undefeated records into the match and when it was all over Dordt remained undefeated and the Raiders took their first loss of the season. Dordt won the match in five games: 15-13, 15-4, 10-15, 11-15, and 15-12. The Lady Defenders were led by freshman Darci Bouma's 30 kills in the win. Karen Netz added 19 kills and Janna Van Donge 13 in Dordt's sixth win of the season. Junior setter Kim Van Dyken lofted 69 assists and Mindi Boogerd had 35 digs. Carol Welander, Darci Bouma, and A.J. Poppema each had two ace serves a piece in the five game match. Northwestern was led by Kris Bierman's 25 kills in the loss. Setter Lisa Eller added 68 assists and 10 digs to pace the Lady Red Raiders.
