Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Northwestern-GPAC Semifinals

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders needed four games to defeat Northwestern tonight in the semifinals of the GPAC tournament.
Game one was touch-and-go for both teams during the early points, as there were six ties in the first seven points. Dordt took the lead for good at 8-7 en route to the 30-16 victory.
The Red Raiders fought back in game two, forcing eight ties throughout the game--the last coming at 23-23--before winning 30-26.
Games two and three were all Dordt as the Defenders jumped out to early leads in both games and getting victories at 30-19 and 30-23.
Rachel Van Beek had 17 kills to lead the Defender attack. Lindsey Van Wyk had 10 kills to go along with her 3 ace serves and 26 digs. Jill Bouma had 33 digs for Dordt. Northwestern's Tara Tigges had 13 kills while Maggie Freiborg had nine blocks.
