Dordt College Volleyball vs. Morningside College

October 19, 2002

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Lady Defenders swept the second match of the season against the Morningside Mustangs Saturday. Dordt controlled game one the whole way and were well on the way to a game two win, leading 26-18 before Morningside mounted a comeback, eventually knotting the score at 28. The Mustangs took a 29-28 lead and served for the game but didn't convert and Dordt eventually scored three points in a row to go from down 30-29 to win 32-30. Game three featured nine ties, the latest at 26-26 but three straight points by the Lady Defenders pusheed the difference to 29-26. Morningside came within 29-28 but a serve out of bounds ended the game and the match. Dordt was led by their left side hitters, Rebecca Baber and Dre Johnson with 17 and 15 kills respectively. Morningside was led by Lindsey Honsbruch with 10 kills and Lori Van Meeteren with nine.
