(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt College improved to 2-1 at the Hastings Classic on Saturday, September 8 with a 3-0 win over the McPherson Bulldogs.
Dordt hit for a .259 kill efficiency while pounding down 43 kills in the three sets and had 55 digs to improve to 9-3 overall.
Dordt was led by Lindsey Floen and Loy Sahr with nine kills each. Danae Geels put down eight and Jenna Horstman had seven. Kayla Gesink accounted for 29 assists and Kayla Broekhuis had 16 digs. Jana Van Zanten was perfect from the service line while going 13-13 with two aces.
After a close 25-23 score in set one the Defenders scored going away 25-13 and 25-20.
"This was a perfect way for us to continue growing through our pre-season while picking up a three game sweep," said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.
