Dordt College Volleyball vs. Doane

(Crete, Nebraska) Dordt College dropped a 3-1 Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball match on Saturday afternoon in Crete, Nebraska. The Defenders split the first two sets and then saw Doane win handily in sets three and four for its 19th win against three losses.
Doane won set one 25-23 and Dordt evened the match with a 25-21 win in set two. The Tigers were then victorious with convincing 25-16, 25-15 wins in sets three and four, snapping Dordt's two match winning streak while snapping their own two match losing skid.
"Though this match went four sets we were on our heels for much of it," said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.
Dordt was led by Katelyn Schuller with nine kills while Lindsey Moerman, Kiley Velgersdyk and Danae Geels each had eight kills. Jessica De Stigter and Kayla Gesink had 19 and 18 assists respectively and Jocelyn Bousema led Dordt with 18 digs.
Doane was led by Ashley Axmann's 15 kills while Susan Rollman added 14. Desiree Erickson had a match high 44 assists for the Tigers.
Dordt is now 4-2 in the conference and 9-12 overall while Doane is 4-2 and 19-3 overall. Dordt is scheduled to travel to Morningside on Wednesday night in GPAC action.
"As we progress through this GPAC schedulewe will need to establish early on who we are and how want the match to be played," said Hanson.
