Dordt College Volleyball vs. Master's-Point Loma Classic

(Point Loma, California) The Dordt College volleyball team couldn't muster a comeback on Friday night in a match at the Seaside Classic in San Diego, California against the The Master's (California). Dordt lost a 25-22, 25-20, 25-23 decision in the classic hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University.
Dordt was led by Katelyn Schuller with 11 kills in 17 attempts and Jana Van Zanten added nine. Jocelyn Bousema had a team high nine assists and Kayla Broekhuis delivered two ace serves. Jessica De Stigter and Kayla Gesink registered 13 and 11 assists respectively as the Defenders slip to 5-6 overall and The Master's improves to 10-3.
"Our performance tonight had some individual bright spots with Katelyn Schuller leading the way at the net. We have to come out tomorrow with a balanced attack and look forward to the challenge that will arise versus these nationally ranked teams," said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.
Dordt faces two stiff challenges on Saturday when they face Concordia (California), the #12 ranked team in the country and Point Loma Nazarene, the #6 team in the NAIA poll.
