Dordt College Volleyball vs. Viterbo-Bellevue Classic

(Bellevue, Nebraska) The Viterbo V-Hawks beat the Dordt College Defenders 3-0 in play at the Bellevue University Labor Day Classic on Saturday, September 3. The 6-2 V-Hawks trailed Dordt 7-6 before taking the lead for good with a five point run and won an eventual 25-17 decision. Set two was similar with Dordt tying the score at 6-6 on a Kayla Gesink kill. From that point Viterbo pushed to a 14-7 lead and went on to win 25-14. Set three was tied 10-10 after a Katelyn Schuller kill but the V-Hawks again had a run in them to get up 19-12 and won by a 25-18 margin.

Dordt ws topped by Katelyn Schuller's 11 kills while Danae Geels added six and Lindsey Moerman had five. Jocelyn Bousema recorded 11 digs and Jessica De Stigter put up 14 assists.

Viterbo was topped by Amy Braaksma with 12 kills.

Dordt slips to 2-5 with the loss and will face Benedictine (Kansas) in its next match.
