(Olathe, Kansas) After starting slowly the Dordt Defender volleyball team closed with a flourish in taking match one of their play at the Midamerica Nazarene Classic in Olathe, Kansas. Dordt won the match 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-9.
Kendra Potgeter had 11 kills and Lindsey Moerman and Kiley Velgersdyk had eight kills each. Brittany Landegent and Loy Griess both dropped in seven kills. Bekah Posthuma led in assists with 25 and Jessica De Stigter was credited with setting up 20 kills. Dorinda Hibma averaged over seven digs per set with 31 for the match and she had three ace serves.
Dordt is 13-2 and will play Evangel later today in the field. Dordt faces two more Heart of America teams on Saturday in Benedictine and Baker.
