(Bellevue, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defenders improved to 2-1 for the weekend at the Bruin Invite hosted by Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska on Saturday morning with a 3-0 win over Bethany (Kansas).
Dordt dominated the match early in taking a pair of sets by a 25-10 and 25-8 margin. The Defenders then fought Bethany off in set three by a 29-27 margin.
Kendra Potgeter led Dordt with 15 kills and Danae Geels put down 10 and Jana Van Zanten had seven. Dorinda Hibma was responsible for 25 digs and Jessica De Stigter had eight while also putting up 24 assists. Cassie Huizenga had 23 assists as Dordt improved to 14-5 this season.
Dordt will face the host Bellevue later this afternoon.
