Dordt College Volleyball vs. Park-Hastings Tournament

(Hastings, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender volleyball team had little trouble with the Park Pirates in their first match at the Hastings College Classic on Friday. The Defenders beat the team from Missouri 25-15, 25-18, 25-21 to improve to 11-2 this season.

Dordt got 15 kills from Kendra Potgeter (sophomore; Byron Center, Michigan) along with two solo and two assisted blocks. Kelsey Van Dyke (freshman; Edgerton, Minnesota) hammered down seven kills along with Kristin De Ronde (senior; Oskaloosa, Iowa).

Dordt's Jessica De Stigter (freshman; Sioux Center, Iowa) put up 16 assists and Cassie Huizenga (junior; Orange City, Iowa) was good for 14. Amber Weingartner (freshman; Arvada, Colorado) and Dorinda Hibma (sophomore; Sioux Center, Iowa) led in ace serves and digs. Weingartner had three aces and 12 digs while Hibma had two and twelve. De Stigter also got to 12 digs.

Dordt will face Oklahoma Baptist at 6:00 in their next match.
