Dordt College Volleyball vs. Concordia

(Seward, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender volleyball team came away with their second win of a Nebraska road swing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference this weekend with a 3-0 win at Concordia. The Defenders scored wins of 25-15, 25-22 and 27-25 for their 23rd win of the season in 28 tries.

Dordt was led in kills by Kristin De Ronde's eight and Kendra Potgeter added six. Kill totals were not very high for either team with Dordt totaling just 28 in the win. The Defenders did get ten points off ace serves with Kelsey Van Dyke getting three in along with Brandee Schaap. Cassie Huizenga and Dorinda Hibma both had two ace serves and Hibma led the team with 14 digs. The Defenders got 13 assists from Jessica De Stigter adn seven from Huizenga.

Kelsey Affolter put down nine kills as did Lauryn Nyhoff for the hosts and Kaylie Mellema had 25 assists. Heidi Zoucha was the team leader in digs for Concordia with 17 and Nyhoff had 12.

Dordt will is now 7-2 in the conference and will host the College of Saint Mary on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00. Concordia falls to 5-17 and 2-7.
