Dordt College Volleyball vs. Avila-Baker Tournament

(Baldwin City, Kansas) The Dordt College Defender volleyball team won their fourth match of the weekend with a 3-0 win over Avila (Kansas) on Saturday at the Baker College Classic in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Dordt had little problem with Kristin De Ronde leading the way with 20 kills against two errors on 34 attempts. Larissa Veldhuizen had 13 kills and Autumn Vande Kamp knocked down 11. Emily Van Voorst had 44 assists in the match while Liz Van Voorst led the Defenders with 17 digs. Dorinda Hibma and Betsy Van't Hul both had 10 digs in the match.

Kristin De Ronde and Emily Van Voorst were named to the all-Classic team at the conclusion of the weekend's action.

Dordt is now 13-1 and will host their first home match of the season on Tuesday, September 11 when they face Sioux Falls in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.
