(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt defeated College of Saint Mary 3-1 in their opening game of the Hastings Tournament. The loss added to a 3-match losing streak for the Flames. The Defenders are now 14-2 overall after the win.
Sophomore Larissa Veldhuizen put down 17 kills and Autumn Vande Kamp and Kendra Potgeter each had 13. Middle hitter Kristin De Ronde added 11. Emily Van Voorst led in assists for Dordt with 51 and freshmen Brittany Haan and Dorinda Hibma recorded 22 digs each for the match. Steph Goslinga and Liz Van Voorst were both successful from behind the service line with 2 aces a piece.
The Defenders have now beaten the College of Saint Mary two times in a row in the series.
Dordt will look to build off of the win as they face the Bellevue Bruins at 6:00pm.
