Dordt College Volleyball vs. Sterling (KS)-Dordt Tournament
September 22, 2006
(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender volleyball team turned away Sterling College (Kansas) in three straight games this afternoon 30-14, 30-16 and 30-12. The tone was set for this one early when Dordt raced away in game one. Sterling stayed close in game two until they surrendered five points in a row to go from trailing 19-14 to down 23-14. Dordt went on to win the game 30-16 and rolled to a win in game three. Kristin De Ronde led the Dordt attack with 12 kills while Larissa Veldhuizen added nine adn Lindsey Van Wyk seven. Emily Van Voorst put up 17 assist and Steph Helmus had three ace serves. Traci Kooima led the way with 17 digs and Lindsey Van Wyk had 16.
