Dordt College Volleyball vs. Hastings-GPAC Finals

November 12, 2005

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Lady Defenders fought off Hastings College for the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament championship at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center.

The Lady Defender raced out to a ten point lead in game one and rode that to a 30-20 win in game one. In game two the Lady Defenders trailed early but fought back for a 11-6 lead. Hastings made a couple charges but couldn't complete the comeback, falling by an eventual score of 30-26. Game three was Dordt early but Hastings came back to tie it at 23, 24, 25 and 26, but never took the lead as the Lady Defenders won 30-27.

Dordt was topped by Tara De Boer's 19 kills while Lindsey Van Wyk and Jill Haan had nine each. Emily Van Voorst put up 44 assists and Haan led Dordt with 19 digs.

Celeste Bauer led Hastings with 14 kills while Erin Lenneman had nine. Renee Faimon led Hastings with 17 digs.

This is the third year in a row the Lady Defenders have gone undefeated in the GPAC regular season and won the post-season tournament.
